Sleeping Woman Flies From Pakistan to France…..and Back Again!

Sleeping flight passengers sleeps through her stop

Don’t you just hate it when you miss your stop?

Apparently a French woman who flew from Lahore to Paris was having such sweet, sleeping pill induced dreams on her flight that she slept through the two hour stopover in Paris and flew back to Lahore.   By the time she finally woke up she was on her way back to Pakistan.

The woman, Patrice Christine Ahmed, boarded Pakistan International Airlines flight PIA-7333 to Paris via Milan at noon on Tuesday and returned to Lahore on Wednesday after an 18-hour 12,000-kilometre (7700-mile) round trip.

She didn’t mention anything to the cabin crew when she realized she missed her stop and the matter only came to light when she was stopped by immigration officials on arrival back in Pakistan with an expired Visa.

Pakistan International Airlines is now investigating how the airline staff and Paris Charles de Gaulle ground crew failed to notice the sleeping woman during the cabin clean-up.

Looks like this epic snooze could be costly for this deep sleeper as the airline is trying wiggle out of blame (and the cost of the ticket to fly her back to Paris….again) by saying that “It is a passenger’s responsibility to check about the destination and disembark when the plane arrives at the particular airport.”

So who do you think is to blame?  The airline, the airport ground crew, the traveller ….. or the doctor who  prescribed the powerful sleeping meds (HA!)?
